Do Yoni Pearls Treat Infertility?

To treat infertility, you have to know the cause of infertility. You can only know these causes by performing tests. Once, you know the causes, you can then proceed to treat. Although there may be some herbal treatments for infertility, inserting yoni pearls is definitely not one of them.

Yoni pearls can be inserted whilst using an IUD. It is very unlikely that the insertion of yoni pearls could dislodge the IUD or affect its efficacy.

Can They Cause A Miscarriage?

There is no proof that shows that yoni pearls can cause a miscarriage. However, a secondary infection caused by their insertion could cause a miscarriage (in theory).

Can I Use Yoni Pearls While Breastfeeding?

This is not advisable. There is no evidence showing that breastfeeding while yoni pearls are inserted can have an adverse effect. But consider that what your body absorbs can end up being passed to your baby via breast milk.

Yes, they can. Sometimes people have allergic reactions to some of the ingredients used in the preparations. Some symptoms include

  • Swelling
  • Reddening
  • Rashes and discharge
  • Copious discharge

Can They Treat Sexually Transmitted Disease (STI)

No, they cannot. Please, if you have any signs of having an STI especially after having unprotected sex, visit your doctor.

Although there is no proof to support this, some doctors suggest that continuous use can cause some herbs to react with secretion which may in turn calcify and may lodge in the fallopian tube.

DIY Yoni Pearls

I searched for a recipe online that would not involve borax or dried alum, and would also include readily available or easy-to-get ingredients. As I list the ingredients, I will also leave a link to her YouTube channel. You can watch it HERE

NB. I am vehemently against the use of yoni pearls. This recipe is strictly for educational purposes.

  • A pinch of Rosemary
  • Dried Rose buds can be added too
  • 1/2 tsp of coconut oil
  • 1 tsp of Hibiscus flower
  • 1/2 tsp of Golden Seal root
  • 1 tsp of Angelica root
  • 1/2 tsp of Bentonite clay powder
  • A few drops of Helichrysum Italicum (Replace with Hemp oil)
  • A few drops of Calendula officinalis (While flower)
  • A few drops of Bloodroot (Whole Rhizome)

 Mix all ingredients together using only glass or plastic no metal because of the Bentonite clay. Wrap in gauze and insert inside the vagina for 72 hrs.

Conclusion

Yoni pearls are a controversial topic. While orthodox doctors’ advise against its uses. Holistic and naturopathic healers swear by its efficacy. At the end of it all, it all boils down to individual opinions. A lot of women in Nigeria who have used swear by it while others have had less than savory experiences.
